Getting Inked

I’ve been wanting a tattoo for a while now. It’s been two years to be exact and I remember because it all started around the time I got my tragus piercing. There are a few reasons why I haven’t gotten one though such as not having enough money, wanting to make sure that I really wanted one and simply not knowing what to get. Everyone says that if I’m going to get a tat, it has to be something meaningful, something I won’t regret down the road and that’s what was really holding me back. Recently however, I was finally able to think of something that I would like to have on me for the rest of my life. I’ve always had a broad imagination. I like to think ahead and I predict outcomes for every situation I find myself in long before they take place. I also like to daydream a lot and even my real dreams are all vivid and crazy most of the time. I mean I’m sure that happens to many people but I happen to be very fond of the fact that it happens to me because whenever I’m feeling down I can always daydream myself into a brighter mood or I can go to sleep in a bad mood and wake up all hyper the next day from a good dream. My dreams have also helped me out in making life decisions. That’s a hard one to explain but it’s true. So for my tattoo, I’ve been thinking of getting the word dream. At first about a year ago I was going to get the Chinese symbol for dream but I’ve seen too many people with Chinese symbols and I don’t want to have a mainstream tattoo so I decided to design one myself. It’s going to be a hand extending and holding the word dream (not sure if it’ll be in Spanish or English yet). I want the hand to be identifiable as my hand so I might add a bracelet that I always wear to the wrist part. The word is going to be in script, in such a way in which it looks like a string or some type of lace that just happens to make the word dreams. The only thing now is getting this idea on paper. I would draw it myself but that’s not really my area of expertise sooo I’ll have to find a tat artist who can bring my “dream” to life. All I know is that I plan to get this tat by the end of the year and I’m excited for it :)
